Meet your guide for the Do Eat Better Experience Lake Como Food Tour in Piazza Duomo, near the Cathedral
You will meet your local expert at the meeting point. Let's begin the food adventure!
Starting from the Cathedral of Como, our food tour begins at the first stop, where we’ll savor a selection of high-quality cured meats, perfectly paired with a glass of local wine, all served in a charming, historic wine shop.
In Como, locals have a beloved tradition: enjoying pizza by the slice right in the heart of the city! To truly eat like a local, a stop for this delicious, quick pizza is an absolute must.
As we continue, we will taste one of Como’s most traditional dishes: polenta uncia or polenta with braised meat. A true queen of the table in the Como area and throughout the Alps, polenta is made by cooking a mix of corn and buckwheat flour and served either with tender braised meat or with melted butter and local cheeses, as in the classic polenta uncia. We’ll also try the famous sciatt—crispy, golden pancakes with a gooey, stringy cheese center, a crunchy delight that perfectly complements the heartiness of the polenta.
As we conclude the tour, you’ll enjoy a seasonal delight, a warm, velvety zabaione with chestnuts or a refreshing artisanal ice cream, depending on what the moment calls for. Both are served with a rich, aromatic coffee, because in Italy, no meal or food tour is truly complete without a perfectly brewed espresso to finish.
