We will meet in the square where Porta Praetoria is located, an important Roman landmark and the starting point of our walking tour. From here, we will begin exploring the region’s rich gastronomic tradition while strolling through the historic streets of Aosta.
On our way to the first stop, we will stroll alongside the historic city walls, a powerful reminder of Aosta’s ancient past. Our first tasting will be a cold cuts board paired with a glass of local wine, featuring a selection of traditional cured meats that showcase the authentic flavors of the Aosta Valley.
Continuing through Piazza Émile Chanoux, we reach the second stop for a cheese tasting. Here, you will sample a variety of local cheeses, a true highlight of the region’s mountain cuisine, produced using time-honored alpine methods.
Crossing Via Croix de Ville and passing the historic City Cross, we arrive at the heart of the tour: the traditional first dish. You’ll enjoy a classic local recipe, offering a comforting taste of Aosta’s culinary heritage.
To conclude our food tour, we’ll savor a coffee served with tegole biscuits, the region’s iconic almond biscuits, providing a sweet and satisfying end to our culinary journey through Aosta.
