Journey by bullet train from Seoul to Gyeongju to experience a 5-hour guided tour as part of this 2-day adventure. During your guided tour, learn about Korea’s history, religion, and science by visiting a Buddhist temple, ancient tombs, and the oldest astronomical observatory in Asia. Your tour includes train tickets to and from Seoul (on consecutive days) as well as overnight accommodation in Gyeongju.
Enjoy a ride from Seoul Station to SinGyeongju Station on Korea's bullet train, KTX. The ticket will already be provided to you in advance. As you head down to Gyeongju on the 2-hour ride, be mesmerized by Korea's beautiful scenery.
Upon arrival, meet with your guide and start your 5-hour tour to some UNESCO World Heritage sites. You will be driven to Bulguksa Temple, which is classified as Historic and Scenic Site No. 1 by the South Korean government and added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1995. The temple is famous for its architectural beauty.
Then continue onto the Gyeongju Historic Area, where you can find many large and small tombs of kings and court officials, as well as various artifacts. Next, take a walk towards Cheomseongdae Observatory, the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. Learn how Cheomseongdae Observatory was used in politics, science, and agriculture.
After discovering and learning about the wonders of Gyeongju, be taken to your hotel near Bomun Lake in Gyeongju.
The next day, spend some leisure time at the hotel or explore more of Gyeongju on your own.
Transfer to SinGyeongju Station on your own and ride the KTX train back to Seoul (the ticket for which will be provided to you in advance).
