Calligraphy has imported to Japan during 6C from China.
Learn to draw the line with brush.
Check the sample carefully to copy the Chinese charactor.
We will ask your name so that we can prepare your name in Japanese Phonetics.
Practice your name in Japanese.
Write your letter on the rice scoop.
Rice scoop(shamoji) is lucky item in Miyajima.

You can take pictures as much as you want while you are in here, and we will take pictures of you doing the lessons. You can take pictures in our Japanese garden, too.
Our lesson is very good introduction to the Japanese authentic cultures.
Wearing kimono make it even more special that could be the highlight of your trip.

We are located at 5 minutes walk from ferry port. Follow the red fan sign across the ferry port. Contact us if you need any assistanse to find us.

What to expect

Dressing up with kimono is included in this activity.
First, chose the kimono from our collection and wear it. We have more than 100 kimono for you to choose from, so do Obi belt and other needed items.
In the calligraphy lesson, we start from explaining how to hold the brush. Try the basic lines first so that guests can get used to the brush. Then try Kanji (Chinese character) . We have differnt samples for you to choose from. Choose your favorite Kanji to practice. Also, we will make a sample of your name in Japanese alphabet called Hiragana and Katakana.
Sign your art work with Japanese and stamp it.
You can take your work with you. We have perfect container for that. During your lesson, we will take your pictures. By answering questionnaire, we will share all the picture with you.
