During the 45-min train ride, your kids will receive an activity booklet, giving them a taste of the Sun King’s Palace through questions and riddles. After a short walk through the city of Versailles, where you will spot an old-style fresh food market, you’ll arrive at the Palace and will enter without standing in line, thanks to our skip-the-line tickets. Along the Palace official lounges – or Great Apartment – you’ll see the dwellings where King and Court lived. The decorations are exceptional. Marble, gold, statues, painted ceilings: they all witnessed the colorful crowd of passing courtiers, waiting for the sovereign to beg for favors. The most magnificent places are certainly the Royal Chapel, because the King of was the Catholic Church protector, and the Hall of Mirrors, a testimony to the Sun King’s military glory. In Louis XIV’s bedchamber, your guide will amaze your children with details about the incredible ceremony the King subjected himself to. In the gardens, quick additional riddles will enthrall your children’s interest. They can caper at their ease on the Orangery Lawn and stand breathless upon discovering the endless viewpoints through the formal gardens.
