Discover Miyajima’s sacred seascape on a private charter cruise from Miyahama Onsen. In a 1-hour one-way or 1h20 round-trip voyage, experience a maritime pilgrimage to Itsukushima Shrine, viewing its towering 16m torii from the water (tide permitting) and performing the traditional two bows, two claps, one bow.
Cruise the Ōno Seto sea route to observe oyster rafts and learn about Hiroshima’s oyster cultivation, enjoy coastal scenery where traces of Yayoi-period dwellings remain, and admire Mt. Misen’s primeval forest and reclining Kannon silhouette.
The tour also visits two of Miyajima’s “Seven Seaside Shrines” — Suyaura and Mitoko (the latter marking the deity’s temporary enshrinement; note its distinctive cracked-rock crest). Calm Seto Inland waters make for a peaceful, reflective sail.
