Beng Mealea is a unique temple built same period of Angkor Wat and it has similar lay out. Except that Beng Mealea is completely swallowed by jungle and it is untouched by people.
Koh Ker, was a briefly a capital of the Khmer Empire from 10th Century AD and it remained there for about twenty year before it returned to Angkor in the year 941AD. Dozens of temple can be visited in the area of 81 square kilometer. Prasat Thom is an imposing Pyramid temple located in central of the great city of Koh Ker to install the sacred Lingas of king Jayavarman IV.
You are not only see the temple, but you will experience a real countryside of Cambodia with villager house, seasonal farms and some activity of the people who live in the area.

1Prasat Beng Mealea
7:30 AM – Hotel Pick-up Your experienced local guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap. Travel through the beautiful Cambodian countryside, passing traditional villages, rice fields, sugar palm trees, and local markets while learning about rural life and Khmer culture. 9:00 AM – Beng Mealea Temple Arrive at the spectacular Beng Mealea Temple, a 12th-century masterpiece built during the reign of King Suryavarman II. Often called the "Jungle Temple," Beng Mealea remains largely unrestored, with giant tree roots, moss-covered sandstone blocks, and collapsed galleries creating a true archaeological adventure. Walk along wooden pathways as your guide explains the temple's history, architecture, and hidden details. 11:30 AM – Scenic Drive to Koh Ker Continue your journey through remote countryside to Koh Ker, the former capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century. Enjoy the peaceful scenery and gain insight into Cambodia's rural communities along the way.

2Koh Ker Temple
1:30 PM – Koh Ker Archaeological Park Explore one of Cambodia's most impressive archaeological sites. Prasat Thom – Climb the remarkable seven-tier pyramid temple for panoramic views of the surrounding forest. Prasat Pram – Admire five brick towers beautifully embraced by giant strangler fig roots. Prasat Krahom (Red Temple) – Discover intricate sandstone carvings and the remains of one of Koh Ker's most important temples. Other Ancient Shrines – Visit several smaller temples scattered throughout the archaeological park, each revealing the unique architecture and history of the former royal capital. Throughout your visit, your guide will share fascinating stories about King Jayavarman IV, the rise of Koh Ker as the Khmer capital, and the distinctive architectural style that sets it apart from Angkor. Relax on the drive back to Siem Reap while enjoying more views of Cambodia's countryside.
