We will begin our journey in Mexico City visiting the Square of the three cultures, where the past and the present mix; continue to the impressive archaeological zone of Teotihuacan, to admire the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the temple of Quetzalpapalotl, the citadel and the avenue of the dead. We will also visit an arts & crafts center.
We return to Mexico City to visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of America. Return to the hotel and rest of the day free.
Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Villahermosa. Reception at Villahermosa airport and ground transfer to Palenque. Free afternoon. Lodging. Air ticket included.
Visit to the archeological site of Palenque, nestled in the jungle. One of the most important Mayan sites due to the findings in this location and also because of its beauty. Inside the inscriptions pyramid archeologists found the sarcophagus of the Pakal King, with a craved stone. The Sun temple, The Cruz Follada Temple, and the Palace. Departure towards Campeche to find a beautiful view of the Mexican Gulf
After that, we travel to the Gulf of Mexico through the state of Tabasco. CAMPECHE, arrival in this Mexican port city known for its colonial buildings and its 17th-century fortifications created to face pirate attacks. Dinner included.
Visit the city, the vibrant capital of the state that treasures a rich colonial and Mayan heritage, we know the fortified cathedral of Merida and the limestone church of the Third Order, as well as the Casa de Montejo, a mansion of the sixteenth-century, is an emblem of colonial architecture plateresque.
Afternoon at leisure, we suggest you visit the Museum of the Mayan World on your own. In the evening, we include a transfer to attend the “Representation of the Mayan ball”
IZAMAL, one of the most beautiful towns in Mexico, was declared a “Magical Town”
In CHICHEN ITZÁ, we include entrance and visit to the most important and renowned vestige of the Mayan civilization, a World Heritage Site; we will visit the ancient city and the mythical pyramid of Kukulcán and the temple of the warriors. After the visit, we include a meal of Mayan cuisine.
We then travel to RIO LAGARTOS, a small fishing village in the middle of a Biosphere Reserve.
In the morning, we include a boat ride of a little more than two hours. We enter the biosphere reserve; we will be able to see crocodiles among its mangroves, lots of birds, including pelicans and pink flamingos. You can also “live the mud experience” by smearing mud with high concentrations of sulfur, minerals, and salts that act as exfoliants for the skin, leaving a feeling of softness throughout the body.
In the afternoon, we visit the CENOTE CHOJ HA, managed by the local Mayan community. You will walk along a short path in the jungle to visit its dry cave, and you can swim in the wonderful lake inside the wet cave.
Continuation to CANCUN, arrival at the end of the afternoon.
