In 1980s, the current owner of the site made an inadvertent archaeological discovery while attempting to restore this Italian-style house, whose façade and patios date back to the first half of the 19th century. As a result of the excavations, the remains of tunnels that once channeled the Zanjón de Granados, cisterns, water tanks, utensils, containers, and remains of buildings from 1700, 1740, and 1830 were recovered beneath the mansion and adjacent buildings.
