These atmospheric ruins were once a strong hold for the Clan Campbell.
The tower is in fact, a folly. Built in 1897 by the wealthy, philanthropic banker John Stuart McCaig. There are fantastic views of Oban from here for those brave enough to climb the hill,
Lunch will be in Oban and time to try some wonderful seafood or perhaps a quick visit to the small distillery.
Whist we are in the town of Inveraray you may wish to visit the castle. Home to the Dukes of Argyll, the castle is the seat of the Clan Campbell.
