You’ll also learn about the tragic history of the Glencoe Massacre. And for Harry Potter fans, these three iconic peaks served as the backdrop for the final battle at Hogwarts!
Have lunch in Fort William, located at the base of the Nevis Range. Explore the remnants of old army barracks, take a stroll along the shores of Loch Linnhe, and savor local cafe delights before resuming the journey.
Arrive at Glenfinnan, the highlight of the journey, featuring the Glenfinnan Viaduct by Thomas Telford and the Jacobite Monument. Explore trails for stunning views, spot the Jacobite Steam Train* (operating May 5th–September 26th, 2025), and relive the magic of the Hogwarts Express. Visit the shores of Loch Shiel and the historic Glenfinnan Monument, marking Bonnie Prince Charlie’s 1745 Jacobite Uprising. *Please note that the train will be in operation from 5th May- 26th September 2025. On days where the train is not in operation, you will still have the opportunity to see the viaduct.
The return journey passes through the western side of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, with stunning views of Loch Lomond, Scotland's largest loch. A stop at Luss, a charming conservation village with historic cottages, offers the chance to explore its rich heritage and enjoy a peaceful walk along the loch's scenic shores.
