Miradouro da Boca do Inferno is one of Sete Cidades’ most spectacular viewpoints. A short walk leads to a dramatic lookout over the crater and the famous twin lakes—blue and green—framed by forested slopes. It’s a must-stop for photos and a true “wow” moment on São Miguel.
Vista do Rei Viewpoint in Sete Cidades is one of São Miguel’s most iconic panoramas. From here you can see the full volcanic crater—an immense, bowl-shaped caldera formed by ancient eruptions—its steep green walls dropping down to the village and the famous Blue and Green Lakes. A must-stop for photos in any season.
The Caldeira das Sete Cidades is a vast volcanic crater on São Miguel, shaped by ancient eruptions and now covered in lush forest. From the rim, enjoy breathtaking panoramas before descending and entering the crater, where you’ll find the village of Sete Cidades and the famous twin lakes—one blue, one green—surrounded by dramatic green slopes and peaceful trails. We will enjoy a buffet lunch of many local dishes.
Miradouro da Barrosa is a scenic viewpoint above Vila Franca do Campo, on São Miguel’s south coast. From this elevated stop—around 947 meters above sea level—you get wide Atlantic views over the town and coastline, plus a beautiful perspective of the island’s green slopes dropping toward the sea.
Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lake) is one of São Miguel’s most breathtaking natural sights. Set inside a protected volcanic crater, this pristine lagoon is surrounded by steep green slopes and dramatic viewpoints high above the water.
Ribeira Grande is a lively town on São Miguel’s north coast, known for its traditional Azorean charm and coastal setting. On the tour, you’ll pass through Ribeira Grande, catching glimpses of its historic streets, local architecture, and everyday island life shaped by the sea. It’s a great moment to soak up the north-coast atmosphere and enjoy the scenery before continuing your adventure.
