The non-participatory mokoro safari takes you to the Okavango Delta where you will witness a combination of aquatic wildlife, amazing bird species, breath taking landscapes, tranquil sunrise and sunsets, and amazing star gazing; all in all summed up in one word: unforgettable! We will visit the Eastern delta in a community controlled wilderness area. We work with some of the most experienced Polers who have mastered the channels as well as being astute in coexisting with aquatic and land wildlife. Did we mention the nature walks and how those make you just part of the ecosystem?
We also pick up from Bus Stations
Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Maun to the mokoro station, followed by a transfer into the heart of the Okavango Delta by mokoro. Upon arriving at camp, settle in before embarking on a guided two-hour late afternoon nature walk to explore the Delta's pristine wildlife and landscape up close. Return to camp as the sun sets to enjoy a refreshing hot shower under the open sky before gathering around a crackling campfire for a delicious evening meal. The campfire is the heart of our safari experience, providing a warm setting to exchange heritage, folklore, and stories together. Later in the night, peer through our high-powered telescope to marvel at the brilliant stars and constellations of the African night sky. Finally, retreat for a restful sleep in your spacious tent, complete with a comfortable stretcher bed, private veranda, and an attached en-suite bathroom featuring a bush toilet, shower, and sink.
Rise and shine to a fresh morning over warm coffee, tea, and local rusks. We will head out for a guided three-hour early morning nature walk to connect deeply with the surrounding wilderness—a grounding experience believed to set a peaceful tone for the rest of your day. Return to camp around 10:00 AM for a hot, filling brunch, followed by a relaxing afternoon siesta in the tranquil heart of the Delta. Once well-rested, embark on a serene three-hour mokoro cruise through the Delta's channels, returning to camp just before sunset. Whether you choose to meditate to the gentle rhythm of the water, drift off to sleep, or simply marvel at the scenery, it is an unforgettable journey. Upon returning, enjoy a hot bush shower in the privacy of your en-suite tent before gathering around the campfire for dinner, sharing stories with your guide like old friends.
Awaken to your final morning in the Delta, surrounded by unforgettable landscapes and memories in the making. Set out on one last morning nature walk for up to three hours, tailored to your pace and energy levels. Return to camp around 10:00 AM for a hearty final brunch, followed by time to unwind. Safety permitting, you may even take a refreshing dip in the clear channels, connecting fully with the surrounding ecosystem. After a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience, glide back to the station aboard your mokoro while reflecting on your journey. There, a motorized boat will meet you for the scenic water transfer to Audi Camp, followed by a comfortable drop-off back at your hotel in Maun.
