What to expect

Travel through 45 kilometres of spectacular scenery on this guided sightseeing tour through Jasper National Park’s Maligne Valley. Home to diverse wildlife, forests and unique geological features, the valley offers incredible opportunities to experience the natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies.

As you travel through prime wildlife habitat, your guide shares fascinating insights into the area’s wildlife, history, ecology and geology. Keep watch for moose, bears, elk, deer, bighorn sheep and other native wildlife along the way. Sightings are frequent but never guaranteed.

Stop at Medicine Lake, where dramatic limestone cliffs rise above the shoreline. Enjoy a short scenic walk while learning about the fascinating geology behind this remarkable “disappearing lake.”

Continue through subalpine forest to world-famous Maligne Lake, where you’ll enjoy a guided 2–3 km nature walk along the lakeshore, taking in glacial-blue waters, mountain vistas and forested surroundings. After your hike, enjoy some free time at Maligne Lake Day Lodge, where you can eat a packed lunch or purchase food when available, before returning to Jasper.
