    Drepung Monastery (Zhebang Si)

    Today's first attraction is visiting Drepung Monastery, which is the world's largest monastery and housed the Dalai Lama for over 10,000 years.

    In the afternoon you will first visit the Tibet Museum. Here you can see life scenes, exquisite clothing, house architecture, and festival customs, etc. to explore the special and mysterious Tibetan customs.

    Norbulingka (Precious Stone Garden)

    Then you will visit Norbulingka, which is a typical Tibetan-style royal garden, the summer resort of the Dalai Lama.

    Potala Palace

    Our guide will meet you at the hotel in the morning and take you to visit the famous Potala Palace, the main landmark of Tibet and the masterpiece of Tibetan architecture. It was first built by King Songtsen Gangpo in the 7th century and later reconstructed by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. It is now a museum and a world heritage site.

    Jokhang Temple

    In the afternoon, we will visit Jokhang Temple in the heart of Lhasa city. Jokhang Temple is one of the most sacred temples in all of Tibet and has always been bustling with local pilgrims from the early days.

    Barkhor Street

    After that, you will take a walk around Barkhor Street – one of the most devotional circuits as well as Lhasa's crowded central market. Barkhor Street is a very old round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple and the locals are always proud of it. As a symbol of Lhasa, it is also a must-see place for visitors.

    Lhasa- Gyantse(4040m)- Shigatse(3840m), 360km, approx 6hrs

    On our way from Lhasa to Shigatse, we will pass by Kampala Pass (4,790m) and visit Yamdrok Lake, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. Standing at the lake shore, you can see the blue water shimmering with beautiful light, as well as the snow-capped holy Mount Nyenchen Khangsar (7,191m) in the distance.

    Next, we will pass by the Karola Glacier and enjoy it on the roadside. It is about 300m from the main highway on your way to Gyantse.

    Then visit the main monastery in Gyantse - Pelkor Chode Monastery. Pelkhor Choede in Gyantse town is located about 230km to the south of Lhasa and 100kmto east of Shigatse. The monastery is a short walk from the heart of the town.

    Shigatse - Tingri - EBC(5100m), 350km, approx 7hrs

    In the morning, you will depart from Shigatse to Lhatse, a small town located 150 km from Shigatse, and you may have lunch at a local restaurant. After a brief break, you 'll proceed to Tingri. You will pass Tsola Pass (4600M) and Gyatsola Pass (5248M). In the late afternoon, you will enter the Mt. Everest National Nature Reserve. You can take in the panoramic view of the Himalayas at Gawula Pass (5198m). Then, we drive along the new zigzag road to Rongpuk or the Tent Camp to stay overnight. If the weather is good, you can have a clear view of the sunset of golden Everest peak. If it's summer (usually from May to October), you will stay overnight at the nomad tents at the new Everest Base Camp. If it's winter (usually from November to April), you will stay at the Rongbuk Monastery's guesthouse. Both places have only dorm bed lodging available. You can see the beautiful Everest sunset in both places if the weather is good.

    In Shigatse, we will visit Tashilunpo Monastery, the home of Panchen Lama. The monastery was founded by the 1st Dalai Lama in 1447 and is a historically and culturally significant site in Shigatse and the second-largest city in Tibet. The monastery is located on a hill in the city center. Its full name in Tibetan is "all fortune and happiness gathered here" or "heap of glory". Take the Friendship Highway back to Lhasa from Shigatse, the northern way to Lhasa. On your way, you'll see the Yarlung Tsangpo valley.
