Your journey begins with a comfortable pick-up at 08:30 from your accommodation in Marrakech. Leaving the bustling city behind, you’ll travel toward the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, where your guide will brief you on the route and ensure you are fully prepared for the day’s adventure.
The hike starts in Imlil, a picturesque village standing at 1740 meters, known as a gateway to the Atlas range. From here, you will move through the enchanting Tamatirt Valley, following mountain trails that weave past Ait Souka and Tamatirt, villages built from stone and clay that blend harmoniously into the landscape. Along the way, enjoy fresh mountain breezes, terraced agriculture, walnut trees, and rushing streams. Your ascent continues toward the Tizi n'Tmatert Pass, reaching an altitude of 2280 meters. From this high point, the views open dramatically to reveal a sweeping panorama of the Imnan Valley, dotted with ancient settlements and rolling landscapes shaped by generations of Berber farming traditions. The challenge intensifies as you push higher toward Adrar Talmrout, standing proudly at 2600 meters. This is the highlight of your trek—an elevated vantage point where the vast Atlas range unfolds beneath you in every direction.
After celebrating your achievement, begin your descent back toward Imlil, following a scenic route that offers new perspectives of the valleys and peaks. Once back in the village, you will enjoy a freshly prepared lunch (Not Included), a well-deserved reward after the demanding hike. Feeling revitalized, you’ll return to your vehicle and drive back to Marrakech, with an estimated arrival around 18:00. As you approach the city, you’ll carry with you memories of dramatic landscapes, cultural insights, and the satisfaction of completing one of the region’s most rewarding day hikes.
