You will be picked up from your hotel or hostel by our driver at 8:00 AM sharp, and we’ll head together to Imlil, a charming Berber village in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Situated 1,740 meters (5,700 feet) above sea level and just 65 km (40 miles) south of Marrakech, Imlil is the perfect starting point for your trek. Your journey begins as we make our way toward the mountain shrine of Sidi Chamharouch. By now, we will be well above 2,400 meters (8,000 feet), surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and the fresh mountain air. We’ll pause for a delicious picnic lunch, prepared by our cook, giving you a chance to rest and soak in the scenery. Then, we continue ascending through the mountains toward the refuge at 3,200 meters (10,500 feet). Here, you can enjoy a refreshing mint tea, a hot shower, and a well-earned rest, preparing you for the adventure ahead. This first day promises spectacular views, authentic Moroccan experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.

2Imlil
Imlil is a picturesque Berber village nestled in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, just 65 km (40 miles) south of Marrakech. Sitting at 1,740 meters (5,700 feet) above sea level, it offers stunning mountain views and a perfect starting point for your trekking adventure.

During the summer months, you may have the option to sleep in tents under the stars, adding a unique touch to your mountain adventure. Regardless of the season, breakfast is served at 5:00 AM, allowing an early start to catch the first light of day. By 5:30 AM, we begin our ascent up the mountain, a rewarding trek that takes around four hours, including a short break halfway to recharge. Along the way, you’ll enjoy snacks of nuts, fresh oranges, and water, while taking in panoramic views and breathtaking landscapes as you climb higher. At the summit, rest for about 45 minutes, capture stunning photographs, and soak in the incredible sense of achievement atop the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains. After descending the same route, we return to the mountain hut for a hearty lunch before continuing our trek back to Imlil. From there, you’ll be driven comfortably back to Marrakech, completing an unforgettable day of adventure, spectacular scenery, and memories to last a lifetime.
