Meeting and pickup
We typically pick up from any hotel or accommodation in West, Central and City of London, but if you want to be collected from anywhere else, just ask, and we’ll make it happen.
Likewise if you want to be dropped somewhere different after the tour, or generally mix things up then you’re in the right place. We can be fully flexible to make sure you have the perfect trip.
Depending on details there might be a slight change of timing or a small fee, but pretty much anything you need, we can make it happen.
We’re all about making your day as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, and that starts from the moment you book.
We’ll reach out to check if you need any assistance with your travel plans and as the tour approaches we’ll share all the info, handy tips and contact details.
The day before the tour your guide will message you by SMS to share their contact details and field any last minute questions and they will then contact you on arrival at your chosen pickup point.
From that point on they’ll look after you and share this two day Jane Austen experience with you, adapting the tour to suit your preferences and generally showing off the beautiful areas you'll be visiting.

6The Roman Baths
No visit to Bath would be complete without a visit to the world-renowned Roman Baths. Despite Jane not really having faith in the water’s healing properties, they are the reason people have been drawn to this place for thousands of years and are well worth the visit.

Your guide will transport you to your accommodation, whether it is one of the splendid city centre spa hotels, or a grand manor house in the nearby countryside. Hotel accommodation is not included, but we can make recommendations or even reservations for you if needed

Your guide will collect you from your luxury Bath hotel to dive into Jane's life in Hampshire, her birthplace, inspiration, and final resting place, along with a stop in a Cotswolds village used in iconic Jane Austen screen adaptations.

A fascinating village in it’s own right, it is a place frozen in time where the streets look largely the same as they did in Jane’s day. For that reason it has been a filming location for both the famous BBC version of Pride and Prejudice and Gwyneth Paltrow’s adaptation of Emma. Harry Potter and Downton Abbey fans will be well served here too!

9Steventon
A world away from the magic of the movies, and a stark contrast to Jane Austen’s life in Bath, we go back to where it all began, Jane’s birthplace and where she spent her first 25 years, in what is still a sleepy rural idyll where some say she was at her happiest

10Jane Austen's House
Chawton is truly a place of pilgrimage for both dedicated Janeites and passing fans. This was where she was at her most creative and is where she wrote or revised her six beloved novels. From the drawing room where the family gathered and she played the piano, to the bedroom she shared with Cassandra her sister the house is packed with rare personal belongings and iconic items, like the famous writing table where she did her work.

11Winchester Cathedral
We bring our journey to a sad close, following the route she took by carriage to Winchester to visit her doctor, and visit the house she moved to when the journey became too much where she spent her last days writing letters. We bring the tour to a close in the magnificent Winchester Cathedral, founded by kings and the final resting place of the literary queen that is Jane Austen.
