7:30 AM: Meet your guide & get ready Start the day by meeting your friendly local guide and getting fitted for your motorbike and gear. You can choose to ride your bike or join as a passenger.
Hit the road through the stunning countryside, winding your way up Ma Phuc Pass, one of the region’s most scenic mountain routes. Your first cultural stop is Dìa Tren Paper Village, home of the Nung people, where handmade paper is still crafted from bamboo using traditional techniques. Next, visit a blacksmithing village where locals forge tools the old-fashioned way by hand, using open flames and heavy hammers.
12:00 PM: Stop for a hearty local lunch, then settle into your first homestay in Khuổi Kỵ Ancient Village, a peaceful Tay village known for its stone-built houses and quiet charm.
2:00 PM: Visit the stunning Nguom Ngao Cave, stretching 2 km under the mountains. Wander past sparkling stalactites and formations shaped like dragons, turtles, and mythical beasts. The natural beauty inside this cave is just as dramatic as the landscapes above. 5:30 PM: Return to your homestay in time to relax, enjoy a warm dinner with your host family.
7:30 AM: Fuel up with a homemade breakfast and get ready for one of the most exciting days of the tour. 8:30 AM: Ride out to the Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the largest & most impressive waterfalls in Asia, located right on the Vietnam–China border. Take a sampan boat ride close to the base of the falls, feeling the spray as the water crashes down. Then climb the 300 steps to Truc Lam Zen Pagoda for a wide-angle view of the falls and surrounding mountains. 12:00 PM: Enjoy a fresh local lunch near the waterfall before continuing your loop.
2:00 PM: Head toward Angel Eye Mountain, a surreal karst peak with a perfectly round hole in the middle, like nature’s version of a giant lens. Hike through open grasslands to the base or, if the season allows, kayak across the nearby lake for a peaceful paddle under the eye.
5:00 PM: Ride back to Cao Bang City & check into your next homestay. After a long but unforgettable day, enjoy a hot meal and wind down with your hosts.
7:30 AM: Start your final day with breakfast in Cao Bang City before setting out for one of Vietnam’s most meaningful historical sites. 8:30 AM: Ride to Pac Bo Historical Complex, where Ho Chi Minh secretly lived & worked after returning from exile in 1941. Visit Coc Bo Cave, his former shelter, and Lenin Stream, a peaceful, crystal-clear river he famously named. Explore the site’s modest memorials & learn about Vietnam’s revolutionary beginnings in this remote mountain area.
11:30 AM: Return to the city for a farewell lunch with local flavors and one last chance to share stories with your guide and fellow travelers. 1:00 PM: Enjoy a bit of free time to relax or explore Cao Bang City on your own before the return journey.
4:00 PM: Board a comfortable limousine bus back to Hanoi. Expect to arrive around 10:00 PM, ending your Northeast adventure with a camera full of memories and a deeper understanding of Vietnam’s landscapes and cultures.
