12:00 – Hakone ▼ Hakone Ropeway – Togendai Station to Owakudani The Hakone Ropeway offers panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and volcanic landscapes. The most scenic section runs between Owakudani and Ubako, while the segment between Togendai and Ubako overlooks Lake Ashi.
12:40 – Hakone ▼ Owakudani – Experience the Volcanic Spirit of Hakone (Approx. 40 minutes) Owakudani, formed about 4,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption, is one of Hakone’s most famous sightseeing spots. Once known as “Hell Valley” for its toxic fumaroles and boiling pools, it was renamed Owakudani after Emperor Meiji’s visit in 1876. Here, you can try the local specialty: Kuro-tamago (Black Eggs), boiled in sulfuric hot springs. Legend says eating one egg adds seven years to your life. The eggs turn black due to a chemical reaction between the hot spring’s sulfur and iron.
14:00 – Kamakura / Enoshima ▼ Enoshima Island (Approx. 120 minutes, free time) Enoshima is a historic island full of myths, shrines, and vibrant local culture. A legend tells of a heavenly maiden who descended to subdue an evil dragon, and since the Edo period, the island has been a popular pilgrimage site. Enoshima Benzaiten Nakamise Street: Cross Enoshima Bridge, pass through the bronze torii gate, and stroll along this lively 200-meter shopping street filled with restaurants, snack stalls, and souvenir shops. Enoshima Shrine: With a history of over 1,500 years, the shrine enshrines three sister goddesses of fortune and is believed to bless visitors with wealth, success, and love.
