    Blue Spring

This beautiful place is one of the most important natural water sources in New Zealand. The water you see here is incredibly clear and blue. That’s because it has been filtered naturally through volcanic rock and underground aquifers for over 50 to 100 years before reaching the surface. Because of this long natural filtration process, the water is some of the purest in the world. In fact, the Blue Spring supplies around 70% of the bottled water produced in New Zealand. Even though the water looks clean enough to drink, swimming and touching the water are not allowed.
