Mount Eden is called Maungawhau in Maori. It is one of the 14 Tūpuna Maunga (ancestral mountains) in the Auckland region. It is an extinct volcano that erupted 28,000 years ago and is now 196 metres high, making it the highest volcano in Auckland. From the summit of Mount Eden, you can enjoy stunning views of Auckland City and the harbour to the east, west, north, south and south. A flat track has been created along the well-preserved crater, which is about 50 metres deep, so you can enjoy the views of Auckland without much difficulty.
Westhaven Marina is the largest yacht marina in the Southern Hemisphere. The marina has almost 2,000 yachts and is known to be fully booked. There are many yachts to admire and a well-maintained promenade along the waterfront in Auckland, known as the 'City of Sails'. It is a place where you can take Instagram-worthy photos with Auckland's landmark Sky Tower and Harbour Bridge in the background.
The Domain Wintergarden is located within the Auckland Domain and is a Grade 1 Historic Site listed by New Zealand Heritage. The Wintergarden consists of two large glass conservatories. One is an unheated temperate conservatory and the other is a tropical conservatory (heated to an average temperature of 28°C). Between the two conservatories is a courtyard with several neoclassical sculptures and a pond in the centre. The Wintergarden conservatory offers a year-round display of colourful flowers.
The Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park is located on the top of Bastion Point, overlooking Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island. It has a stunning panoramic view and is located on a total of 49 hectares of land, and is notable for its tall obelisk and a mirrored pond amidst well-maintained gardens. Visit this place, which houses a memorial to Michael Joseph Savage, the founder of the New Zealand welfare state, and enjoy a peaceful retreat in New Zealand.
