What to expect

Train like a real samurai—not as a tourist, but as a warrior in practice.

This immersive experience takes place at a dojo in Tokyo’s Kojimachi district, once part of Edo Castle’s inner grounds where samurai honed their skills.

Begin by learning samurai etiquette and the spirit of Bushido, followed by breathing techniques and meditation to calm the mind.

Then move on to wooden sword drills, strength training with a heavy stick, and silent walking exercises to test your posture and focus—like a ninja.

You’ll continue by learning real combat sword techniques, mastering one authentic samurai combat kata, and then applying these skills in one-on-one sparring with an instructor.

During a break, enjoy matcha green tea and Japanese sweets in a quiet, cultural setting.

At the end, receive a personalized scroll-style certificate with your name and the techniques you learned. You’ll also wear traditional samurai attire and take a commemorative photo.

The entire experience is in English and beginner-friendly.

A rare chance to go beyond sightseeing and truly become the samurai.
Minimum 2 participants required.
