    Santiago Atitlan

Santiago Atitlán is one of the most culturally rich and historically significant towns in Guatemala. Located on the southern shores of Lake Atitlán and surrounded by volcanoes, it is a predominantly Indigenous Tz’utujil community where traditions remain deeply rooted in daily life. Unlike more touristic towns around the lake, Santiago Atitlán has very few foreigners, allowing visitors to experience local life in a truly authentic way.

The peaceful atmosphere and natural sounds of the forest create an ideal setting for wildlife observation and photography.
