Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Durban, traveling north through scenic landscapes of sugarcane fields, rolling hills, and traditional Zulu villages. On arrival at Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Park, one of Africa’s most iconic reserves, you will embark on a thrilling three-hour safari drive. This park is famous for its Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—and is especially celebrated for saving the white rhino from extinction. With luck, you’ll encounter herds of elephants crossing the plains, rhinos grazing in the open grasslands, and giraffes gracefully browsing the treetops. iSimangaliso Wetland Park
After a break for lunch in the town of St Lucia, own expense, continue the adventure with a game drive in Dukuduku, part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This section is home to a mosaic of habitats including wetlands, forest, and savanna. Keep your eyes open for buffalo, zebra, antelope, and possibly the elusive leopard. The combination of coastal and inland habitats makes this park one of the most biodiverse regions in South Africa. In the evening, return to your lodge in St Lucia, where you can relax and reflect on the day’s discoveries under a starlit sky.
