We offer pickup from your accommodation or a nearby meeting point. You can also meet us directly at the Pombais viewpoint, by the entrance of the trail. Please keep your phone on for any updates and show your booking confirmation (digital is fine) upon meeting.

The hike stops at the Pombais viewpoint, a beautiful spot to enjoy views of the surrounding valleys and ridges. The guide will give a short briefing about the Vereda da Ladeira trail, explain highlights of the area, and answer any questions. It’s also a perfect place to take photos, catch your breath, and prepare for the challenging trail ahead.

After stopping at the Pombais viewpoint, the hike follows the Vereda da Ladeira, a challenging zigzag path with steep sections. The guide will provide safety tips and explain the historical importance of these veredas. The trail descends to the Fajã da Quebrada Nova, a remote coastal plain, before returning along the same path in a strenuous climb, offering dramatic views and a true sense of adventure without crowds.
