Hoi An Lantern Making Class is a hands-on cultural experience where travelers can create a traditional Vietnamese lantern in the heart of Hoi An. Guided by a local instructor, guests receive a brief introduction to the history and meaning of Hoi An lanterns, then follow step-by-step instructions to complete a foldable silk lantern.
This activity is ideal for culture lovers and travelers interested in local experiences, as well as creative guests who enjoy handicrafts. The class is safe, interactive, and easy to follow, making it suitable for families with children. For travelers with limited time, this workshop offers a meaningful cultural experience in a short duration, with the added benefit of taking home a handmade lantern as a unique souvenir.

We offer a convenient hotel pickup and drop-off service within Hoi An city center to make it easier for you to join our lantern-making class.
Please provide your hotel name when booking and wait at the main entrance of your hotel on the day of the activity. Our driver will pick you up 30 minutes before the class starts and will contact you in advance via phone or WhatsApp to easily locate you.
Pickup time: 30 minutes before the class starts
Drop-off: Return to your hotel after the class
Vehicle: Private car (4–7 seats depending on group size)

What to expect
The workshop lasts approximately 60 – 120 minutes, depending on the selected class option. During the session, the instructor demonstrates each step and provides continuous guidance, allowing guests to learn, practice, and complete their lantern at a comfortable pace.
What to Expect: Guests will choose a lantern frame, select fabrics and colors, apply the fabric to the frame, decorate the lantern with a tassel, and, for the full class or upon special request, paint or draw a personal design on the lantern. The workshop is beginner-friendly and designed to be easy to follow in a relaxed atmosphere.

• Short Class – Lantern Making Only: approximately 1 hour
• Full Class – Lantern Making & Painting: approximately 2 hours
Guests can select the class option that best suits their interests and schedule.
