If you want to see WHERE the Summer of Love took place (including the residences of folks like Charles Manson, Jim Jones, and Janis Joplin), WHY you can no longer be buried in San Francisco and experience WHO made Haight Ashbury one of San Francisco's most dangerous neighorhoods in the late 60's and early 70's- you'll want to join the next Hippie Haight Ashbury and True Crime Walking Tour. Equal parts history, architecture, and hauntings, we'll explore the underbelly of one of the most fascinating places on Earth. Your experience was designed by a sixth-generation San Franciscan who consulted numerous individuals, books, other tours and historical archives to put together this experience.
We meet at the top of the staircase at the entrance of Buena Vista Park.
We will end in Golden Gate Park, Hippie Hill, not far from Haight St and Stanyan St.
This is where we'll begin our time together and talk about Haight history and the Summer of Love
We'll pause for a moment across the street from the Grateful Dead House, and the former Hell's Angels HQ
We will stop at the former San Francisco HQ of the infamous motorcycle gang.
We will pass by one of the former residences of Janis Joplin
We'll also swing by the "supposed" residence of Jimi Hendrix
We will enter Golden Gate Park and finish our tour with some true crime stories (and pics!) on Hippie Hill.
We'll have more than enough time to snap a pic at the perpetual 4:20 clock at the famous Haight St & Ashbury intersection
