What makes this experience special is that you’ll spend the day with me, a local mountain guide, and my family in our humble home in a peaceful, less-visited part of the Atlas Mountains.
Rather than following a typical tourist route, I’ll take you through mountain paths and villages around Amizmiz, sharing the landscapes, traditions and everyday life of the area.
After the hike, you’ll be welcomed into our family home for a hands-on Moroccan cooking experience. You can help prepare a traditional homemade meal, learn about local ingredients and cooking traditions, enjoy Moroccan tea and share food and conversation with my family. Before the experience, you can tell me what meal you would like to prepare or let me know about any food allergies or dietary requirements.
You may also meet my little daughter, who is simply part of our everyday family life.
This is a private experience designed to connect you with a real local family and , less-touristy side of the Atlas Mountains.
What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakech. Private transportation to the Atlas Mountains is included. After the experience, you will be returned to Marrakech. If your accommodation is not accessible by car, we will arrange a nearby meeting point.
What to expect
I will guide you on a private hike through traditional villages, agricultural landscapes and beautiful mountain scenery. Along the way, I’ll share stories about my home area, local traditions and everyday life in the mountains.
After the hike, you’ll come to my family home and experience our local hospitality. You’ll join my family in preparing a traditional Moroccan meal using local ingredients. You can take part in the cooking, learn about Moroccan food traditions and enjoy Moroccan tea.
After cooking, you’ll sit with my family and enjoy the homemade meal we prepared together. You can also tell me in advance about your preferred meal, food allergies or dietary requirements.
At the end of the experience, I’ll take you back to Marrakech by private vehicle.
