On this guided hike through the Monteverde Cloud Forest, you will walk trails surrounded by lush vegetation accompanied by a professional local naturalist guide. During the tour, your guide will help you identify birds, insects and other species while sharing knowledge about the ecology and biological richness of this unique ecosystem.
The reserve protects more than 10,000 hectares of tropical cloud forest and is home to an impressive diversity of fauna and flora. With the support of professional optical equipment, you will be able to observe and appreciate the biodiversity that makes Monteverde one of the most important natural destinations in Costa Rica.

Meeting and pickup
You will meet your guide at the front desk right next to the official parking lot of the Monteverde Biological Reserve which is 5 minutes from the entrance of the trails. The latter will already be with your guide and will move together to begin the hike on the chosen trail

2Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve
During this guided wildlife tour in the Monteverde Cloud Forest, you will explore an extraordinary protected area that conserves more than 5,000 hectares of tropical cloud forest, one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. This unique environment is home to numerous species endemic and native to the Monteverde Mountains. Along trails surrounded by lush vegetation, you will have the opportunity to observe tropical birds, insects, epiphytic plants and orchids, and hopefully some mammals. Your naturalist guide will share knowledge about the ecology of the cloud forest, the importance of its conservation and the interactions between species. In addition, this region is located on the continental divide, where trade winds generate the constant formation of clouds that gives rise to the emblematic cloud forest of Monteverde.
