There aren't many parks in South Africa that offer a better day out than exploring the iconic "Big 5" Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa! Our expert local guide will take you on an unforgettable journey through the heart of this special place. Not only is this the oldest declared game reserve in all of Africa but in a time long ago was once the royal hunting grounds of the great Zulu King Shaka and today a world renowned haven that saved the white rhino from near certain extinction with every white rhino alive today having its genetic roots in the magnificent wildlife wonderland.

Enjoy a sunrise morning coffee &rusks with a packed breakfast and later a traditional South African "braai" (BBQ) out in the open bush for lunch while your guide relates tales of the bush and other magical experiences in this wildlife paradise.

    The 96000 hectare "Big 5" Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park has a long and vibrant history. Being the oldest game reserve in Africa as well as the epicentre of rhino conservation and game capture innovations that have shaped and re-reshaped conservation and wildlife management from the implementation of "Project Rhino" in the 1950's & 1960's. Once the royal hunting grounds of Zulu king Shaka, this "Big 5" park is much part of the local cultural history as are the multitude of wildlife that roam the wilderness areas. Varying landscapes and diverse vegitation and ecosystems create habitats that support an incredible diversity of species. The Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park is one of the greatest game reserves of South Africa and certainly the pride of KwaZulu-Natal. We hope that when you leave here, we have given something you will forever carry with you, the sights, sounds, smells, and will feel the heartbeat of Zululand wherever you may go, carry it with you - A place like no other!
