The Elephant Conservation Centre is situated in Sayaboury Province, beside a large lake and adjacent to Nam Pouy National Protected Area. This prime location provides elephants access to extensive protected forest, crucial for our rewilding program. The lake also offers guests opportunities for swimming and kayaking, while serving as a safe washing area for the elephants.

Upon arriving at Nam Tien Lake, you’ll be transferred by boat to the Center, where you can settle into your private bungalow. Your guide will then lead you through the forest, passing various enclosures. Enjoy a Laotian picnic on a lakeside platform before observing bath time for our youngest elephants and their mothers. After the elephants return to the forest, you’ll visit the hospital, where our vet assistant or biologist will discuss elephant injuries and treatments. You’ll also witness an elephant bath, learning about their playful nature and social interactions. Get up close to the elephants as they scratch against trees, while your guide shares their backgrounds. Following this, the elephants will head back to the forest for the night. Before dinner, enjoy the views, swim, canoe, or explore the museum. At 6 PM, join a staff presentation on conservation efforts and ask any questions. After dinner, relax at the bar with a delicious Lao cocktail!
