We’ll start with a guided walking tour through the historic center of San Salvador. Explore plazas and monuments rich with history: the inspiring El Rosario Church, the majestic Cathedral, and the lively Central Market. Walk through the soul of the city with a local guide who brings its stories to life.
Next, we escape the city and ascend to the lush highlands of El Boquerón National Park. Surrounded by cloud forest, we’ll hike to the edge of a stunning volcanic crater for panoramic views and fresh mountain air.
And to top off this unforgettable day, we visit the famous Rainbow Slide and Viewpoint – a playful, photo-worthy stop where vibrant colors meet sweeping views over the valley. A perfect way to end your adventure with joy and a splash of fun!
The pick-up service is only available near the historic center of San Salvador and at hotels such as the Intercontinental and Barceló in the Zona Rosa. For everyone outside the pick-up area, the meeting point is behind the National Library BINAES, in the historic centre. The guide will be wearing a Blue t-shirt with the logo of the agency "Traveling Souls"
At El Boquerón, on top of San Salvador Volcano, you will walk along easy forest trails and enjoy stunning views of the massive crater, 1.5 km wide and 500 m deep. Highlights include: -Scenic viewpoints overlooking the crater and the city. -Relaxing nature walks surrounded by fresh mountain air. -A small museum with the volcano’s history.
Barrios Square. A place where thousands of Salvadorans pass through to find all kinds of activities, from concerts, exhibitions and artistic events, or simply feed the traveling pigeons. Learn about presidents who were executed there, as well as legends and stories of love affairs and romances. See the national palace from where President Bukele gave his message to the nation at the inauguration of his second term.
Liberty Square. Explores the heart of the city's historic center. This iconic plaza, with its prominent Liberty Monument, is a symbol of the country's independence. The tour covers the plaza's history, surrounding architecture, and its cultural significance, offering a glimpse into Central America and El Salvador's past. See the architecture of yesterday and today mixed with the new buildings of the present. Walk in the crypt that contains his remains and is visited by thousands of tourists and pilgrims every year. Hear of Salvadoran civil war, from 1980 - 1992, which gave rise to the terrible phenomenon of gangs.
