This koto workshop takes place in a peaceful location surrounded by the Takase and Kamo rivers in Kyoto, where you can experience a calming moment while immersing yourself in the beautiful sound of the koto.
This small group experience allows participants to receive personalized, detailed instruction from the instructor, making it easy for beginners to join and feel at ease.
Additionally, you’ll have the rare opportunity to hear a live performance by a professional instructor up close and experience her playing techniques firsthand.

Meeting and pickup
Gojo Paradiso, located along the Takase River on Kiyamachi Street. 5-minutes walk from Keihan Kiyomizu Gojo Station and 10-minutes walk from Keihan Shichijo Station. It is 386 meters from Kiyomizu Gojo Station.
What to expect
In this workshop, you will experience playing the traditional Japanese string instrument, the koto. Enjoy the delicate and soothing sounds that are characteristic of this instrument.
Even if you have never played an instrument before, there's no need to worry. This workshop is designed for beginners, and the instructor will guide you step by step to help you master the piece.
Additionally, there will be a live performance by the instructor during this workshop. This is not only a wonderful opportunity to learn about traditional Japanese music but also a chance to immerse yourself in Japanese culture through the koto.
