MORNING DEPARTURE
9:30AM: Morning Departure from the Gold Coast: Depart Surfers Paradise at 9:30AM QLD time. It's a 90 minute journey to Byron Bay.
Set off in the morning, passing through beautiful coastal scenery on your way to Byron Bay. The drive itself is lovely with views of lush rainforests and the sparkling ocean. We drop you off at the Byron Bay Interchange in Butler Street.

Some of the main attractions in Byron Bay:
Byron Bay Lighthouse: Once you arrive, you can head straight to the Byron Bay Lighthouse. The views from there are breathtaking—look out over the Pacific Ocean and all the way down the coast, you'll have the chance to spot whales and dolphins!

Shopping & Exploring the bohemian town: After the lighthouse, take a stroll through the town. Byron Bay is filled with quirky boutiques, galleries, and local artisan shops. Perfect for finding something unique or picking up some locally-made goods.

Beach Time: Then, of course, you can't miss the beach! Byron Bay's main beach is often voted one of the best in Australia—soft sand, clear waters, and perfect for a swim or just relaxing by the ocean.

Lunch at a Local Café: For lunch, you’ll have plenty of options for something fresh and delicious. Many cafés in Byron focus on locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, and you can find everything from fresh seafood to vegetarian delights.

Afternoon Relaxation or More Exploration: In the afternoon, you could either just hang out on the beach, or maybe head out on a short walk through the surrounding rainforest. Alternatively, you could check out more of Byron's hidden gems, like the famous Cape Byron walking track, or take a dip at Wategos Beach.

AFTERNOON PICKUP:
Departure from Byron Bay: 5PM NSW time (one hour time difference to QLD) After soaking in the sights, you'll head back to the Gold Coast, probably feeling totally relaxed and refreshed from your day in one of Australia's most iconic beach towns. And the best part, you can jump back on the Byron Bay Express and relax all the way back to the Gold Coast. You will arrive back in Surfers Paradise at 5:30pm QLD time.
