What to expect

Explanation of Grinding Stones
Learn what a whetstone is, what changes depending on the raw materials used, and basic knowledge about whetstones.

-Workshop tour
We will guide you through the process of making grinding stones, from the storage of raw materials to mixing, forming, and baking. You will be able to see the passionate work of the craftsmen and the finished product.
(The tour starting at 7:00 p.m. does not include a tour of the workshop.)

-Kitchen knife sharpening experience
By sharpening a kitchen knife that cannot be cut, it will become sharper and sharper. You can enjoy the changes by trying out the sharpening. You will also learn how to use various types of whetstones and their effects, and learn how to sharpen kitchen knives at home.

-Recommended whetstones as a gift
One recommended whetstone will be given to each student so that he/she can use it at home.

There is also a more substantial full-scale course available. (110,000 yen per group/120 minutes)
