After several excavations in the Gothic cloister it was revealed archaeological remains dating back almost 3,000 years, from the Iron Age to the Middle Ages. A sacred place not to be missed.

    This square was once Lisbon’s main marketplace. It was home to a covered market, which was built in 1885 and demolished in the 1950s. In its place, a bronze equestrian statue of King João I was erected.
