This experience brings you closer to Zanzibar’s true island life through one of its oldest traditions — fishing. Deeply connected to local culture and everyday life, it offers a genuine way to understand the ocean and the people who depend on it. With an experienced local skipper and guide by your side, you don’t just observe the coastline — you become part of it.
Because this is a fully private experience for up to 4 guests, the day is completely flexible and shaped around your preferences. You can focus on traditional fishing, spend more time snorkeling in clear waters, relax on sandbanks, or simply enjoy watching dolphins in their natural environment — everything is arranged in close coordination with your skipper.
If you choose the full-day option, the experience is completed with a freshly prepared Swahili seafood BBQ on board, adding an authentic taste of Zanzibar to a day designed entirely around you.

You’ll meet our Ocean Blue team directly at Muyuni Beach. Look for the large Ocean Blue flag and our crew wearing Ocean Blue T-shirts — you can’t miss them! For easier navigation, here are the GPS coordinates you can use on Google Maps: 5°48'32.9"S 39°21'33.0"E
What to expect
Learn traditional Zanzibari fishing techniques using provided equipment, with all fish carefully released back into the ocean. Depending on your preferences and sea conditions, you may also snorkel vibrant coral reefs, relax on a beautiful sandbank, or observe dolphins from a respectful distance.
Designed for up to 4 guests, this private experience allows you to enjoy Zanzibar at your own pace. The half-day experience returns around 11:30 AM, while the full-day option continues with a freshly prepared Swahili seafood BBQ and returns around 3:00 PM. Fishing equipment, snorkeling gear, and guidance from an experienced local skipper are included.
