Balandra Beach has been called the most beautiful beach in Mexico — and arriving by private boat, anchoring in the turquoise shallows, and swimming to shore makes that claim feel accurate.
The Hook takes your group directly from the La Paz Malecón by private boat to Balandra Bay, 23 kilometers north — no highway, no parking lot, no crowd at the entrance. You'll see El Hongo, the iconic mushroom rock balanced in the shallows, from the water. Snorkel the protected cove, explore the mangrove channels, and stay as long as you want.
Also included: a stop at San Rafaelito sea lion colony (September through May), where sea lions approach snorkelers within arm's reach. June through August an alternative snorkel location is substituted during the seasonal CONANP closure.
What's included: private boat exclusively for your group, snorkel equipment, fresh ceviche on the beach, bilingual guide. Wetsuits available to rent. Entrance fees not included. Year-round availability. $100 USD per person.
Located on the Malecon near 16 de Septiembre and Kiosk de Malecon.
Snorkel with a colony of sea lions and playful pups among the sea life and coral surrounding this small island.
Experience the gem of La Paz in this protected complex of 5 different beaches. The shallow blue waters and red colors of the dessert contrast for stunning vistas. Enjoy fresh house made ceviche under shades here on your own Private Balandra.
