Mexico City, Mexico

2 hours 30 minutes (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

I learned to cook where the best Mexican cooks learn: next to my grandmother.
I haven't stopped since. I have degrees in bakery and pastries from the Cloister of Sister Joan, and I just finished studying gastronomy, and together with my mom we have a cafeteria in the city. The kitchen is not my job, it's my world.
I have been creating gastronomic experiences for travelers from all over the world for more than a year, and what matters most to me is not that you learn a recipe, but that when you finish you feel that in Mexico you will always have a friend.
Each experience is different because each person is different. Welcome to Mexico:)

What to expect

What if your best memory of Mexico wasn’t a museum or a photo, but the moment you tasted a sauce you made yourself in a Mexican house?

This experience begins where Mexican cuisine really begins: at the market. Together we go to the San Cosme Market, in the San Rafael colony, one of the most authentic in the city, to choose the ingredients with your own hands.

Then we go to my house, enter my kitchen, prepare 4 sauces that summarize centuries of Mexican gastronomy: a frit, a fresh, a tatemada and a creamy. Each with a different technique, each with a story behind it.

The menu is suitable for vegetarians and we can adapt it to any food restriction.
When we finished, we sat down to eat what we cooked. With water from Jamaica. And with a mezcal in between, because that's how it's celebrated in Mexico.
You go home with four recipes that you can replicate, and with the seasoning that you only learn by doing it.
