Join us for a relaxing day out just 50 mins from Ports of Tauranga. This experience you will take in breathtaking views of Lake Rotoiti, experiencing Glow Worm Caves, Maori Food Huts, Tree jumping into the lake (for the daring), lunch on board the vessel, soaking in a hot water stream that enters the lake, learning the history of the lake & surrounding area. Do as little or as much as you like.
Next stop is world famous Hells Gate. As you walk through native bush & clouds of geothermic steam, you’ll discover why this land has inspired myths & legends. Once used by Māori warriors to heal their battle-scarred bodies, visitors now use the nutrient-rich waters & mud to ease inflammation & arthritis, as well as rejuvenate the skin. This unique blend of awe-inspiring power & natural healing properties is a thing of cultural legend - having been used for over 800 years. Meeting and pickup
Our driver will be standing on the grassed area outside the port gates - Please meet 15 mins prior to departure time. Please bring Swimwear and towels (you can hire swimwear at Hells Gate and Towels if you prefer not to have the sulphur smell on your own), however, you will need swimwear for Rotoiti Lake. Please advise if you have any dietary requirements as lunch is provided. Minimum number of guests required in total for trip to proceed is 4 pax (can be made up of various groups).

Spend 3 hours cruising around stunning Lake Rotoiti on board one of Pure Cruise's launches. Visit a hidden glo worm cave. An undeniable favorite for those who love adventure is swimming into one of our caves to experience seeing the glow worms. The caves are waist deep once inside and are a truly unique New Zealand experience. Geothermal activity can be viewed in many areas of the lake. Observe steaming fumaroles as we sail by or go ashore and sink your toes into the warm beach pumice sand. You can even soak in the tepid spring water of a natural flowing stream. Tree Jumping - Challenge yourself to step out over a deep bay on the limb of a Pohutukawa Tree while using the overhead ropes for support and jump into the lake. Historic Food Storage Caves Lake Rotoiti has many significant historic sites, some can be seen from the vessel. The crew are happy to share the stories and legends of these special places with guests. You are welcome to stay on board and enjoy the views.
