This hands-on workshop is designed for coffee enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to experienced home brewers, eager to elevate their coffee experience.

Led by expert instructors, you'll master the techniques of grinding, blooming, and pouring to unlock the full flavor potential of freshly roasted coffee beans. We’ll cover everything from understanding the right water-to-coffee ratio to dialing in the optimal grind size, all while using100% Kona coffee straight from our own farm on the Big Island.

By the end of the class, you’ll have the knowledge to confidently brew café-quality coffee at home.

The Coffee Lab is located downstairs from the cafe. Please arrive on time for your session as we'll start promptly at the scheduled time. If you get here more the 15 minutes early, just head up to the cafe and let the baristas know that you've arrived for the brewing class.

What to expect

We'll start by talking about the elements of good coffee brewing: time, temperature, water quality, grind size, and pouring technique.

After a brief introduction, attendees will have the chance to brew coffee on their own using one of a variety of brewing devices.

After brewing, we'll taste the coffees and discuss what went wrong and what went right to help dial in for the next time.

After taking this class, you'll have all the knowledge you need to make cafe-quality brewed coffee at home!
