First of all it is important for participants to understand why we are here to do private tours.
Our mission is to provide a "more meaningful authentic experience" to all that joins our "The REAL Local Tokyo for people who do not want AVERAGE" tour.
Therefore our tours are different from others since:
1. We try our very best to make this package something that is nothing alike to the other average Tokyo tours you will see on many sites.
2. We try our very best not to pick spots that are solely designed to please the eye of a tourist(i.e. something that may look typical Japanese to overseas clients may sometimes be a form of fabrication in the eye of a local)
3. We try our very best to pick spots that are not overly crowded with tourists so that participants can enjoy "quality time in a quality space" instead of quantity time in an overly packed space.
*a minimum of 2 people are required for this tour
I will be waiting at the starbucks coffee shop that is opposite B3exit of Kagurazaka stn. I will be holding a green cloth bag.
This tour will be ending at JR shinjuku station.
I will be guiding you through the town of Kagurazaka that has history of more than 500 years. This town is know for its olden Japanese restaurants and its history for Geisha ladies of entertainment. We will be walking around this town seeing the olden city that includes traditional Japanese restaurants, olden Japanese communal baths, temples, and parts of the present residential areas. It is filled with history and I will be giving you a in depth explanation of this area and its history.
after a good morning walk we will be having lunch in this area. our team has a exclusive choice of lunch places that only locals go to so prior to your tour we will need to discuss what is most suited to your liking. we have choices such as Japanese style lunches that include unagi, chicken egg rice, or a famous French galletes restaurant.
we will be going to a architectural outdoor park that introduces all types of Japanese housing through out its history of a thousand years. the highlight of this park is that it shows throughout history the different type of living according to social status, wealth, occupation, and family background. Added to this Japan has had western influence in every aspect including architecture after it has opened up its country from isolationism in the late 1800's. Again I will be giving you an in depth explanation of Japanese history through the aspect of architecture. this part of the tour will include a lot of walking and taking shoes on and off, so it is recommended you bring shoes that are easy to take on and off.
