What to expect

Step into the quiet world of Kyudo, Japan’s traditional art of archery, in a welcoming space designed especially for first-time participants.

Your experience begins by changing into traditional training wear — hakama and samue. Group size is kept intentionally small, creating a relaxed, personal atmosphere.

A friendly local instructor guides you through Kyudo’s history, philosophy, and cultural background, sharing stories and insights along the way. Questions are always encouraged, and the pace is gentle and conversational rather than formal or strict.

After watching a live demonstration, you’ll try shooting with an authentic Kyudo bow yourself. The instructor stays close, offering individual posture adjustments and quiet guidance, so even complete beginners feel supported and confident. The staff also helps capture photos and videos, allowing you to remember both the moment and your progress.

Kyudo is not about hitting a target or competing with others. It’s about focus, balance, breathing, and presence — and this experience offers a rare chance to engage with a living Japanese tradition in a space that feels intimate, thoughtful, and deeply personal.
