What to expect
Step into a warm and welcoming workshop in Osaka, Namba and experience the spirit of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Upon arrival, you’ll change into a samue, the traditional outfit worn by artisans, and begin your journey with an introduction to the culture and history behind the unique Suzu metalworking method.
Together with a friendly, English-speaking host, you’ll choose whether to create a cup or a plate and learn how to use authentic tools through hands-on guidance. As you shape the metal using time-honored hand-hammering techniques, you’ll not only craft your own piece but also connect with the rhythm and philosophy of this traditional art.
Enjoy a relaxed, interactive atmosphere where questions, conversation, and cultural exchange are all part of the experience. At the end, take home your own handcrafted Japanese tableware—beautifully packaged and made entirely by you.
