Guided by Jair and as part of XIQUIAN, you’ll take part in a responsible cultural experience designed to bring you closer to the meaning of Día de Muertos from a Mexican perspective, fostering respect, learning, and a deeper connection with local traditions and the land.
You'll explore different ways of understanding life, death, and memory; taste traditional foods associated with this celebration and take part in the collective creation of a Day of the Dead altar, discovering the symbolism behind each of its elements. You’ll also have the opportunity to paint your face as a traditional Mexican calavera and, most importantly, gain a deeper understanding of what makes Día de Muertos such a special and meaningful celebration for Mexicans.
