What to expect

Discover local Osaka through a cultural and food experience in Tenjinbashisuji, Japan’s longest shopping street.

Start with a 30-minute walk led by TOMOSHIBI staff who work in the shopping street and know its shops, food culture, and everyday atmosphere firsthand. Discover local Osaka from the perspective of people who are part of the neighborhood.

Then return to TOMOSHIBI, a local matcha shop, for a 90-minute hands-on experience. Try traditional mochi pounding with a wooden mallet, then use the freshly made mochi to create daifuku with seasonal fruit and matcha ice cream.

Enjoy your handmade sweets with matcha and receive an English recipe card so you can recreate daifuku at home.

This 2-hour experience combines 30 minutes of local Osaka exploration with 90 minutes of mochi pounding, daifuku making, and matcha, offering more than a typical cooking class.
