Shymbulak ski resort-is a ski resort near Almaty. It is the largest ski resort in Central Asia. It is located in the upper part of the Medeu Valley in the Zailiisky Alataumountain range, at an elevation of 2,200 metres (7,200 ft) above sea level. The resort area is about 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Almaty city by Medeo road. It is popular for its mild climate, large quantity of sunny days and great amount of snow through the winter (from November till May)

Arbat Street or the Zhybek Zholy Street is Almaty’s main shopping street which is spread from Abylaikhan Avenue to Furmanov Street and is best explored on foot. While walking down, one can see the diversity of shopping in the area. While the street boasts of high branded shops like Mango and Zara, you can also find small and quaint shops. This pedestrian shopping street is famous for having the TSUM Shop which is a cross between a department store and a bazaar and is mostly used by the local residents to fulfil their daily needs. 7Issykskoye Gorge
Issyk (or Isik- another name for the lake, translated as “a door” from Kazakh) is a picturesque, alpine lake surrounded by unusually beautiful nature of thick forests and spacious flower fields. The lake is located at an altitude of 1760 meters above sea level, in the Issyk gorge of Trans-Ili Alatau, about 70 km east of Almaty. Geologically, the lake was formed 8000 years ago as a result of a powerful rock avalanche, which later created a natural 300 m-high dam. The year of 1939 saw the beginning of active development of the lake territory, when a tarmac road, tourist center and bus station were quickly built. Dozens of thousands of Almaty residents and guests come there year round to relax in natural surroundings. The lake was so popular that even its photograph was printed in USSR’s tourist postcards and brochures.

8Turgen Waterfalls
The Turgen Gorge is located near Talgar, a satellite town of Almaty. From the city of Almaty, it can be reached in about 1.5 hours, excluding traffic jams on the highway.
