Nestled at the crossroads of the Romantic Road, the Claudia Augusta Road, and the German Alpine Road, Füssen is a charming town with over 2,000 years of history. From its Roman origins to its peak under Emperor Maximilian I, Füssen later flourished during the reign of the "Fairy Tale King," Ludwig II. The town is home to two castles, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, standing as symbols of royal dreams. Füssen’s medieval architecture offers a glimpse into its rich past, and visitors can enjoy special experiences, such as cafés serving the original cake recipe once favored by Princess Sisi.
