    Konigssee

Königssee, located in the Berchtesgaden National Park in the Bavarian Alps of southern Germany, is often called Germany’s cleanest and most beautiful lake. Surrounded by steep mountain walls, its emerald-green water is calm and remarkably clear. To protect the environment, only electric boats are allowed on the lake. Visitors can take a scenic boat trip across the water, listen to the famous echo demonstration along the way, and stop at the red-roofed pilgrimage chapel of St. Bartholomew, one of the most photographed sights in the region.

Visitors can wander through Getreidegasse, the lively shopping street, visit Mozart’s Birthplace, and see Mirabell Palace and its beautiful gardens.
